FINANCE MANAGER

Position Summary

We are looking for a Finance Manager to develop and manage The Hub Project’s budget systems and oversee their implementation. As Finance Manager, you will own the organization’s financials and contracts processes and will be responsible for reviewing proposals and preparing financial documents and reports. You will work to improve operational financial systems at scale as our teams and programs grow and become more demanding. The Finance Manager will train and manage staff and work closely with the operations team, budget managers and the Director of Finance to ensure the Hub is running efficiently and effectively in order to achieve ambitious program goals.

As Finance Manager, you will:

  • Manage the Hub’s budget model and systems across five departments,  multiple campaigns teams, and various nonprofit entities
  • Ensure revenue projections and program goals are reflected correctly in operating budgets and monitor budgeting activities to manage an accurate reconciliation process
  • Define and integrate accurate and efficient forecasting and reporting processes to identify variances between actual and budgeted financial results at the conclusion of each reporting period
  • Work closely with The Hub’s fiscal sponsor to confirm accurate and timely financial reporting and planning, changes in policies and practices, and updates to budgeting and legal guidance
  • Develop  consistent proposals and contracts process and standards, including general language for payment terms, scope and deliverables, and requirements based on strategy discussions
  • Review contractual performance to ensure compliance and identify conflicts or necessary changes requiring resolution or renegotiation
  • Supervise one position on the Operations team

About you:

  • You have the ability to combine excellent numeracy skills with the ability to analyze and present complex data
  • You have prior experience with budgets, financials, and managing contracts and invoicing
  • You have the ability to understand and explain financial and budgeting information in simple terms
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets and have the ability to anticipate and solve problems
  • You have experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • You have experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, specifically marginalized communities, in considering the impact and outcomes of decision-making.
  • You are a strong project manager and can track and deliver on a variety of deadlines and competing priorities
  • You are well-organized and detail-oriented and can work both independently and as part of a team
