Position Summary

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. The Video Editor will work with the Creative Director and Hub Digital team to develop and execute compelling video content for Hub and partner campaigns. This role will need to produce videos for a range of platforms and moments, including digital channels like Facebook and Twitter, rapid response, and larger-scale projects. We’re looking for someone who is creative, eager to take on a challenge, and works well in a team-setting. Oh, and we’re a fast-moving place that’s always ready to jump into the next fight, so the right person for the job is also not afraid of taking on new opportunities to move people to action.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Work with the rest of the Hub Digital team to design and execute successful digital campaigns across multiple platforms; including quickly mobilizing around rapid response moments
  • Pitch innovative ideas for video.
  • Gather, assess, and edit news footage, headlines, music, etc.
  • Write and edit video scripts.
  • Fast, accurate work rate — and willing to work irregular hours to get projects done.
  • Make sure that all videos follow campaign style guidelines.
  • Review all videos for errors before publishing.
  • Stay on top of political news and trends related to current campaigns.
  • Monitor and assess performance of videos online
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • 2 – 4 years of video editing experience.
  • Proficiency in Premiere editing system, knowledge of After Effects is a plus.
  • Ability to shoot DSLR video and photo a plus.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and creative.
  • Willing to travel as needed for off-site shoots.
  • Experience with Photoshop and/or other graphic design tools preferred .
  • Experience in creating content in the advocacy/political space a plus.
  • A sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and an openness to evolving responsibilities.
