Program Associate

Reports to: Deputy Executive Director, Groundwork Collaborative

Location: Washington, DC

Position Summary

We’re looking for a Program Associate to join an exciting new undertaking of the Hub Project, tentatively titled the “Groundwork Collaborative.” The Groundwork Collaborative will focus on advancing a coherent economic worldview within the broader progressive movement. We’ll work with partners from across the movement to weave a through line among efforts and policy ideas that too often seem disparate. We’ll bring together leading thinkers, leaders, grasstops activists, on-the-ground organizers, and other influential progressives from across the movement to lay the groundwork for arguments in favor of better policies that create inclusive, durable prosperity, opportunity and security.

We need someone with a professional, get-it-done attitude who can help execute the mission of the Groundwork Collaborative and carry out our programs. As Program Associate, you’ll be part of everything from strategic planning to the nitty gritty of operations. As Program Associate, you’ll…

  • Assist in running Groundwork programs.
  • Build, sustain and strengthen relationships with partners and allies.
  • Help plan and execute events, meetings and other convenings, both public and private.
  • Work with the communications, digital, and policy teams to create and implement effective interventions that advance the core mission of the Groundwork Collaborative.
  • Exercise and develop your management skills by managing projects, managing across teams, and managing up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About you

  • You have a bachelor’s degree.
  • You have some experience either planning events, or carrying out programs, or executing plans in a non-profit, political, or advocacy context.
  • You’re incredibly well-organized and you live for the details.
  • You’re a pro at multi-tasking and working under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • You thrive as part of a team.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and a great sense of humor.
  • You love to cross things off your to-do list.
