Paid Media Manager

Reports to: Managing Director, Campaigns

Location: Washington, DC

Status: Full time; Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy, and we make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

The Hub Project is seeking a paid media director to work closely with the Managing Director of Campaigns and other Campaigns department staff on a range of projects. Working with Hub staff and consultants, the Paid Media Manager will manage the day-to-day development and approval process of paid media creative for all Hub projects and will ensure that the ads meet all legal standards.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Working with the communications, research, and digital teams to ensure that media consultants have the elements to create compelling content.
  • Working with research team and lawyers to ensure content meets all legal standards.
  • Working with consultants to develop and edit scripts and meet production timelines.
  • Incorporating feedback from multiple staff and partners and working with consultants to implement edits while staying on deadline.
  • Working with press teams to ensure effective rollout of media plans.
  • Producing timely reports and activity summaries.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Issue or electoral campaign experience.
  • Comfortable managing consultants and staff.
  • Some knowledge of paid media production and/or buying.
  • Excels at creating and managing organizational systems for tracking work products.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Operates well under pressure.
  • Extremely organized and pays close attention to detail.
  • Works well with others in a collegial environment.
  • Sense of humor.
