Emma Shapiro

Associate Director for Crisis Communications

Emma Shapiro is the Associate Director for Crisis Communications at The Hub Project, where she identifies pivotal moments and advises The Hub’s campaigns on how to engage in the changing media and political landscape.

Prior to The Hub, Emma brought her strategic communications and media relations experience to SKDKnickerbocker where she worked on behalf of its nonprofit, corporate, and advocacy clients. Previously, Emma spent more than three years at the Center for American Progress where she managed and built its state-based communications and advocacy program. While there, she worked with hundreds of national and state-based advocacy organizations and focused on many policy areas including health care, immigration, gun violence prevention, and women’s economic security. Emma got her start as the communications coordinator at EMILY’s List.

When not in front of a screen, Emma can be found doodling on real life paper.
