Reports To: Digital Lead, Nuns on the Bus

About the position:

We’re hiring a Digital Director for the Nuns on the Bus national tour (a project of NETWORK Lobby). This is a temporary position that’ll run from 10/1/18 through 11/6/18. The Nuns on the Bus 2018 tour will start in California and end at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, FL. The Digital Director will travel on the bus for the duration of the tour, and will be responsible for driving the day-to-day digital operation for the tour, coordinating with the Nuns on the Bus digital and communications teams (who are based in DC). This person will focus on creating compelling digital content to help amplify the message of the tour, holding Congress and the White House accountable for their new tax law.

As a Digital Director you’ll:

  • Publish compelling social media content to NETWORK’s Facebook and Twitter accounts
  • Capture images and short video at bus events
  • Brainstorm strategy, tactics, and creative to help amplify the tour
  • Livestream events (as needed)
  • Live tweet events (as needed)
  • Provide digital trainings to sisters as they join the bus
  • Keep a pulse on the latest trends (including trending topics on social media platforms) and best practices for digital – and integrate them into our online organizing efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About you:

  • You have exceptional writing skills with a wide range of tone and personality
  • You have experience managing social media channels
  • You have an eagerness to adapt to the latest trends
  • You have a sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and an openness to evolving responsibilities
  • You’re organized, detail-oriented, and analytical
  • You have prior experience working on a campaign or at an advocacy organization
  • You’re excited to spend a month on the road, traveling across the country on a national bus tour

In addition, it would be a bonus if:

  • You have experience shooting and editing video and/or taking high quality still photos
  • You have prior experience working on a campaign or an advocacy organization
  • You are familiar with how to communicate about economic policy and/or health care
  • You have experience covering live events for digital channels
  • You are familiar with Catholic social justice and/or working with the faith community
