Digital Content Associate

Reports to: Managing Director, Digital

Status: Full-time; Temporary through May 1, 2018

Position Summary:

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy, and we make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

We’re looking for a Digital Content Associate to join our team through May 1, 2018, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. This individual will craft and optimize content for The Hub and partner campaigns, working with internal staff and organizations to deploy it via digital channels, including social media and email. We’re looking for someone who is obsessed with following the latest digital trends and tracking online campaign performance, is an exceptional writer, and cares about the details.

The Digital Content Associate will focus on creating compelling content for The Hub’s tax bill accountability campaign, a ​100-day​ ​national​ ​tour ​to​ ​hold​ ​​Congress​ ​accountable​ ​for​ passing​ ​massive tax cuts​ for ​millionaires,​ ​billionaires,​ ​and​ ​wealthy​ ​corporations.​ This tour is a project of the Tax March — a movement that began on April 15, 2017, when hundreds of thousands of people across the country marched to demand tax fairness and transparency. They will also help create content and perform additional duties as needed for our other campaigns, including our campaign to protect access to affordable health care.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Write compelling social media, email, and web copy for various campaigns and projects
  • Cover live events on social media, including live tweeting, live streaming, and gathering and sharing stories from members of the audience during organizing moments
  • Manage the Tax March’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, and other social media accounts
  • Update our campaign websites with the latest and most relevant actions and information
  • Brainstorm tactics, creative, and campaigns around progressive issues and ideals
  • Keep a pulse on the latest trends and best practices for digital – and integrate them into our online organizing efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Exceptional writing skills with a wide range of tone and personality
  • Experience managing social media channels
  • Eagerness to adapt to the latest trends
  • A sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and an openness to evolving responsibilities
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and analytical
  • Willingness to travel frequently
