Campaign Director

Reports to: Managing Director, Campaigns

Location: Washington, DC

Status: Full time; Exempt

Position Summary

Launched in 2016, The Hub Project is made up of a growing team of communications, research, and organizing experts who have extensive experience in campaign strategy, digital, and polling and analytics. We believe in a country where everyone has the opportunity to succeed in our economy and participate in our democracy, and we make that vision a reality by partnering with advocacy groups – bringing surge capacity and coordination to build innovative and effective campaigns.

The Hub Project is seeking a Campaign Director to work closely with the Managing Director of Campaigns and other Campaigns department staff on a range of projects. Working with teams of organizers and consultants, the Campaign Director will manage the day-to-day issue advocacy campaigns in targeted Congressional districts, and coordinate with staff in DC and in the districts to ensure the success of campaigns that include robust paid and earned media plans and organizing efforts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing earned media teams and organizers in key districts nationwide to ensure effective and persuasive campaign activities.
  • Working with Hub digital, communications, and policy staff to create and disseminate effective materials for campaign partners.
  • Manage rapid-response efforts as necessary.
  • Work with partners to coordinate in-district activities.
  • Producing timely reports and activity summaries.
  • Tracking all communications plans and activities in the districts.
  • Serving as point of contact for program consultants and grantees.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Issue or electoral campaign management experience.
  • Comfortable managing consultants and staff.
  • Talent for working with coalition partners and building relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Operates well under pressure.
  • Extremely organized and pays close attention to detail.
  • Works well with others in a collegial environment.
  • Sense of humor.
